Who are we? Why did we do this?

I am a mother; she is a daughter. We, together have survived. What gives us the certification to do what we do? No certification, just experience. We experienced trauma. Each in different situations, some together. Just as all of you have experienced some form of trauma, realize that trauma is different than anyone else’s trauma. We all “feel” at different levels. Some situations will leave a scar on one person, and on another, not even a scratch. This is why we never judge another’s pain, or reaction to difficulty.

The Journey
The journey is different for each of us, just as it is/will be for you. What we want to do, for ourselves and anyone reading this, is help them to cross the finish line and call themselves a “survivor”. It takes time, and it takes work. What we have are the tools. Tools that helped us, and hopefully will strengthen you.

Let's do the Work Together
Those of you that have experienced trauma, have done the work before. Some of you have done the work again, and again. Until you push yourself to heal, not just put a band-aid over the wound, you will not cross that finish line. Crossing the finish line makes you a survivor.
Part of my journey that felt unfinished was helping others. I felt that I could not truly be healed until I helped someone else feel good about themselves. Until I helped someone feel relief. It might be the caregiver in me, but I want others to be whole.
That is what being a survivor feels like. You feel better about yourself, you can breathe again, fear is diminished, and you begin to smile from the inside.
Follow along with us on this journey. Experience the tools we have and reach out if you want to talk about them. If they help you, or you enjoy them, share our site with others. Experience what it feels like to live today with joy, to get excited about the future again.
Welcome and thank you!
